Fruit St, 2018

Fruit St. is a photo series reflecting on the 1988 Mass Die-in at Mass General Hospital organized by Act Up/Boston. This protest was in response to the hospital’s failure to administer life-saving medication to the queer community even though they had the resources available.1 The images juxtapose the hospital's architecture with the plants growing in and around the buildings, referencing how grassroots community action and care can create a more equitable future.
